Olympians To Face Tougher Drug Testing

The USADA will be following several athletes leading up to the 2010 Vancouver Games and doing “longitudinal testing” to determine whether or not an athlete has been doping. This potential doping would be detectable even if an athlete doesn’t fail a drug test. The USADA is the first national anti-doping organization that is using this method to test athletes. Larry D. Bowers, the chief science officer, would not disclose how many athletes would be monitored.
